Low-poly work room for the site: three zones (blog on the shelves, an "about me" desk, an aquarium with animation)

About the Project

The idea for the site: a work room that could be placed on the homepage of my old portfoilo web-site. The task was to make a space with light models, low-poly and simple textures, so the scene would not weigh down the page. The site needed to open easily on a phone and on an old computer.

I made three zones and styled each one:

  1. A clickable zone for the blog and articles. On the shelves are models I made. You can click them and rotate them.
  2. A desk with information about me. Things and documents on the desk, and a working setup.
  3. A zone with animation. I wanted to add movement to the site and decided to do it with fish that swim in an aquarium.

The work itself came out well. As a workspace on the site, the scene still ended up heavy: low-poly and light textures did not save us from the total weight. The site would not open on a phone or on a weak PC.

Software

Main software: Blender Style: low-poly, light textures Purpose: an interactive scene for the site / portfolio (blog, about me, animation)

  • low-poly modeling: furniture, shelves, props, decor
  • UV
  • light textures
  • lighting
  • render (several angles)
  • aquarium and fish for animation
  • assembly and export for the site
