I am Anastasia Maidannikova, professionally known as Astershape.
Who I Am
I am a 3D artist creating characters and creatures, as well as industrial models. The work runs from silhouette and sculpt through textures and rigging, up to a finished file ready for a game or a stream, and for a portfolio as well.
My previous background was in industrial design and commercial production. I worked on print- and production-ready layouts, signage with strict quality-control requirements, and, for two years, industrial 3D designs for children's play mazes that went all the way from the initial idea to the factory floor. I also calculated material requirements and product costs in Excel; those calculations formed the basis for purchasing and project estimates.
Today, 3D is my full-time profession. My main focus is character art. Next, I want to explore product packs (ready-made sets of game assets and props), as well as environments and rooms, and scenes for games and portfolios. astershape is the name under which I take commissions and keep my portfolio, and the name I use as I grow as an artist. It is important to me that clients understand both the process and the expected result. I can explain each stage in plain language and share work-in-progress versions. If needed, I draw a concept first, so we are looking at the same thing from the start.
